you’ll surf with waterproof headphones and receive short, clear comments right after every wave. i stand on the bridge and give instant feedback — what went well and what to adjust on the next wave. you don’t need to wait for a video analysis to spot small mistakes — you can correct them right away, wave by wave. this real-time guidance helps you improve much faster and build a solid technique.

daily video analysis & key focus

at the end of each day, we do a detailed video breakdown with clear examples and explanations. together, we highlight one main mistake to focus on — the one you’ll work on and correct in your next session. this approach helps you progress step by step with full understanding of your technique.

If video recording and structure help to see and break things down, surfskate is where it all comes together - to feel and lock in the movement. This is the foundation of my approach and the reason why my students progress so quickly.

The leisure program always remains partly spontaneous. During your free time, you can explore the tropical island of Hainan: stroll along scenic bays and waterfront promenades, unwind at luxury spas and hot springs, discover Chinese culture and traditional tea ceremonies, enjoy fresh seafood and exotic fruits, or go shopping at modern malls, outlet centers, and the largest duty-free shopping complex in China.

There are no crowds, reefs, or salt water here, and the wave settings are tailored to each surfer's skill level.

Unlike Wavegarden in Korea, the wave in China is shorter but more powerful, making it ideal for faster progression and focused practice on specific surfing techniques.

There is no paddling required. After each ride, you simply walk back to the starting point. This allows you to catch 10–15 waves per hour, compared to just 3–6 waves in the ocean during the same amount of time.

The consistent conditions let you focus entirely on technique, positioning, maneuvers, and overall surfing performance. Every session is designed to maximize learning, progression, and results.

We stay at the brand-new UECHAO HOTEL, a modern property that opened in late 2025. The hotel is conveniently located right next to the wave pool and the entire surf complex. Training facilities, the ocean, cafés, restaurants, and scenic walking areas are all just a few minutes away.

Guests can enjoy an outdoor swimming pool, sunbathing and relaxation areas, a fitness center, conference facilities, a children's play area, as well as several restaurants and cafés. Scooter rentals are also available on-site. And of course, you'll be treated to delicious daily breakfasts.
